Winter Roses

Winter Roses or Hellebores are amazing evergreen perennials with handsome foliage and pretty flowers through winter and into spring. They are real jewels for the winter garden, flowering while many plants are dormant.

Winter rose is famous for their lush, evergreen foliage which is low maintenance and really hardy. They are also well known for growing in hard to fill shaded areas such as beneath deciduous trees. Ensure they are planted in part shade or morning sun for best results. In heavy shade they will grow but not flower as well as they could

The flowers of Winter Rose can be picked and put in a vase or removed from their stems and floated in a bowl of water. Plunge the freshly picked stems into boiling water before putting in a vase to extend their show.
Grow Winter Roses in humus rich, well drained soil.

Plant remembering that as Hellebores establish, they will produce offsets. When planting different colours together, nature will create new colour blends. If you would prefer a pure colour in one area, prevent the varied offsets by planting your Hellebores separately.
Winter Roses grow 45cm tall and 45cm wide.
